Radstadt in the heart of Salzburg’s Sportwelt Amadé is a genuine hiking paradise in summer. In the superb mountainscape of the Dachstein-Tauern region there is the most versatile of hiking options available for you, no matter what your performance level and hiking ability. You can hike to any altitude level in our mountains and Radstadt is the ideal starting point when it comes to small and even large tours of discovery in Salzburg’s Alpine mountainscape.

Enjoy the natural surroundings, switch off and head up the Alp. There are more than 1800 Alpine huts in Salzburger Land - more than any other Austrian state. Around 550 huts are open for mountain hikers and indulge you with hearty Alpine specialities. Indulge in some Alpine cheese, bread from the wood oven, ‘Bauernkrapfen’ (farmer’s doughnut), Schwammerlgulasch (mushroom goulash) or Schwarzbeernocken (blueberry pudding cake) – made by the dairymaids themselves of course.

Mountain tours in Salzburg - Salzburg Almenweg

Radstadt is located on the well known Salzburg Almenweg, which goes 350 kilometres through the Pongau mountains and to over 120 Alpine huts.  A dreamy section of this is for instance the 12 kilometres from Radstadt to Filzmoos via the Radstadt Hütte on the Rossbrand, past numerous moors up to Moosalm (superb view). Sumptuous green Alpine meadows, rare Alpine flowers and a dreamy mountain panorama – that’s what walks across the Salzburg Alps in the fantastic Salzburger Land are like. For nature lovers, connoisseurs and those in search of relaxation, hikes in the dreamy region of Radstadt leave nothing to be desired.

GOLF

Salzburger Land is a very special golfing paradise. There are dreamy golf courses on offer in our landscape, making a game of golf a unique natural experience in the Salzburg Mountains. Within a 5 minute drive, to around an hour, in the area around our Hotel Gasthof Brüggler in Radstadt you can get to 14 of the most attractive golf courses in the Alps.

Right in Radstadt and just 5 minutes from the Hotel there is Golfclub Radstadt. Golf has been being played here since 1991. In the midst of the enchanting mountain backdrop you can choose between a 9-hole compact course, or an 18-hole tournament course. In intensive 3 to 5 day courses you get to work on your handicap with the best trained pros.

For golfers Radstadt is no longer an insider tip. From beginners all the way through to professionals, every golfer really gets their money’s worth here with us in Golfclub Radstadt. Discover the versatility of our golf course. On the first 9 holes it’s really quite easygoing, then the second half of the course is really spectacular – undulating and constantly alternating between uphill and downhill. One of a kind in the world, the golf gondola “Birdie-Jet” which takes you from the 11th Green to the 12th tee really is sensational. It gives you a bit of time to take a breather. For an absolute feeling of elation, there is the 13th tee which is at 996 m sea level. From here you can enjoy a superb panoramic view over the entire course and the Salzburg mountainscape behind it.

Cycling

Re-energise yourself cycling in the extensive and best signposted cycle path network in the Dachstein-Tauern region, around Radstadt in the superb Salzburger Land. From a relaxed cycle tour over flat terrain with inclines which aren’t too great, all the way through to a steep climb with a speedy descent afterwards over sticks and stones; with us everyone will find their optimal route. There are 250 kilometres of cycle paths and mountain bike routes for you to discover here with us.

Hotel Gasthof Brüggler is the ideal starting point for your cycling tours in the Dachstein-Tauern region and around Radstadt. If you don’t want to bring your bike with you on holiday, there is also bike hire in Radstadt where you can hire bikes and mountain bikes which are in tip-top condition.

Taurachtal cycle path

Taurachtal cycle path has some relaxed cycling in store. The short, yet rural and charming tour over 11 kilometres (slightly uphill, around 200 metres altitude) starts in Radstadt on the Enns cycle path and goes through charming terrain, all the way through to the leisure park in the small town of Untertauern. You ride back on the same route, without any effort worth mentioning, then it is predominantly downhill.

If you want to go on an extended tour, in Radstadt you can make use of the 250 kilometre connected Enns cycle path. Discover the breathtaking and very varied Alpine landscape between Dachstein and Niederen Tauern, Gesäuse and the unique Reichraming Hintergebirge.

Horse Riding

In the superb Dachstein-Tauern region around Radstadt in the dreamy Salzburger Land horse-riders can gallop along in the unique, slightly undulating low mountain range area, or ride up and downhill in the mountain ranges to Ross. It’s as if this magical landscape was made for horse-riding. A riding route network which is very varied and over 200 kilometres in length stretches over Salzburg’s Sportwelt. At between 850 and 2.000 metres altitude you get to experience the most superb rides.

In our enchanting region you can plan routes in all variants and difficulty levels. With us, horse riding tours at their very best, and fun and enjoyment are guaranteed. In the area around Radstadt there are numerous riding stables and yards which give you the opportunity to discover the world on horseback. Or bring your horse with you – so the horse can have a holiday too!

Bathing

When you holiday with us here in the Hotel Gasthof Brüggler in Radstadt in Salzburger Land you shouldn’t miss out on bathing fun. A superbly hot summer day in the Salzburg Mountains, the very day for a visit to a cool bathing lake, or an attractive outdoor swimming pool. There are a great deal of swimming pools and bathing lakes in Salzburg’s Sportwelt. There is something there to suit every taste.

Outdoor swimming pools and bathing lakes around Radstadt

It’s just a stone’s throw to the Alpine outdoor swimming pool in Radstadt. Three large sun loungers, a large swimming pool and the 40 metre long giant slide ensure bathing fun for young and old alike.

You can hike for around 8 kilometres or head for Eben luxury bathing lake, where water slides, a beach volleyball court, a water toadstool and a children’s playground await.

The idyllic Flachauwinkl bathing lake is around 15 km from Radstadt, right on the cycle path. Next to it is a superb high ropes course!

For those of you who are especially keen on plenty of diversity, Wasserwelt Amadé in Wagrain (around 17 km away) is just the place. The indoor and outdoor luxury water worlds leave no wish to be desired.

In the Filzmoos luxury pool (around 20 km away) amongst other things there is an inside and an outside pool, a Wellness area with sauna and even two bowling alleys.

And, last but not least, in St. Johann in the Pongau region (around 35 km away) the forest swimming pool and Plankenau bathing lake provide refreshing bathing fun.
